Disinfection with bleach

This gives a rough idea of how much bleach you will need to disinfect your water tank.

These are approximate values for liquid chlorine dosing, and actual values will depend on the water quality.

Don’t use stabilised chlorine, or chlorine which contains cyanuric acid as in pool chlorine.

Only use bleach which does not contain fragrances or other additives.

Using bleach in your tank is a quick, cheap way to disinfect the water, but there are other more environmentally-friendly options for water disinfection such as germicidal UV light and ozone. Contact us for details!
